I was invited by celebrity vegan chef and personality Leslie Durso to attend a preview tasting of Veggie Grill's new Summer menu items. The following dishes will be available in every location on 6/3/15. This meal also served as a birthday celebration for Leslie. So, good times, and great food, were had by all. Here's my little pictorial preview and review of the stuff we ate.
A shot of the new menu...
How many bloggers does it take to get the perfect pic of the new menu items at Veggie Grill? Twelve. The answer is twelve.
The Mediterranean Toss was a super tasty and colorful salad. And the house made tofu feta had a nice texture and zing. Topped with beets, avocado, shaved fennel, pickled onion, and watermelon radish.
Didn't get to try their Chargrilled Street Corn last summer, so I was stoked to try it. It was smoky and spicy, and I won't be making a trip to Veggie Grill this summer without getting one of these bad boys.
The haricots verts were crisp and well seasoned! Nice fresh veggie side dish. And the Sonoran Summer Bowl was good too. Could have used a touch more seasoning and heat, and it was a little light for me. I thought it needed something more like steamed kale or chopped romaine. Great light lunch...if you're into that kind of thing.
The star of the show for me was the Grilled Quinoa and Veg burger. Their new burger patty has quinoa, mushrooms, kale and other veggies. It's crisp and garlicky, and holds together well. Topped with pickled red onion, arugula and Field Roast Chao Cheese slices, on a brioche bun.
Actually, the actual star of the show was Leslie because it was her birthday celebration. Veggie lovers are great singers too...bet you didn't know that.
Actually...the actual, actual star of the show was Oliver...charming all the ladies with his aloof bottle drinking while they fawned. W/ Lynn, Leslie, and Dawn.
